About Melody

I’ve spent 15 years making ecommerce work behind the scenes.

Now I do it for brands that need senior experience without the enterprise overhead.

Background

Where I come from

I started in ecommerce merchandising in luxury retail, setting up products and coordinating launches for some of the most demanding sites in the business. From there I ran webstores for a national jewelry brand, merchandised high-volume categories for a major department store, and spent the last several years in multibrand retail, moving from site merchandising to site experience to running ecommerce operations.

Today I lead a 12-person ecommerce operations team across multiple brands. That means about 10,000 product launches a year, every promotion and pricing event, and the workflows that connect merchandising, marketing, creative and technology.

What that means for you

I know how the pieces connect.

A promotion isn’t just an ad. It’s pricing, merchandising, site content, inventory and timing, and I plan for all of it.

I build systems that hold up.

Workflows, launch calendars, governance and reporting keep a busy team from dropping details.

I translate.

I’ve spent years turning leadership priorities into requirements technology teams can build, and data into decisions leaders can act on.

I manage partners well.

Agencies, platforms and vendors do better work when someone on your side knows what good looks like.

Experience

What I believe

Three things I know about growth.

Growth usually isn’t one big idea. It’s a hundred details done well, in the right order.

Strategy only counts if it gets executed. A roadmap that sits in a folder is just an expensive document.

Small businesses deserve senior thinking too. The discipline large retailers rely on works at any size, once it’s sized to you.

Beyond the work

A little more about me.

I’m also a watercolor artist with my own small online shop, so I know firsthand what it’s like to run the business side of a creative idea.

I write about ecommerce, growth and building a business in The Sunday Note, my weekly newsletter. I’m based in Southwest Florida and work with brands nationwide.

If you need someone who can see the big picture and handle the details, I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
